Default Integra wiring harness question...

Is there any chance the wiring adapter I bought for my '97 Civic is the same as the one I'll need for my '99 Integra, or am I just SOL?

Really? That's good news... looks like I'll at least swap out the stock head unit pretty soon.

I'm not so sure I want to go to the trouble of putting my 6.5" 3-way Kenwoods in the doors. I'd rather have a set of components for the stock locations in the doors, then put the 3-way speakers in the back for fill.

I guess I'll be in the market for an amp as well since there is no way the deck can power the components sufficiently.

The system I pulled out of my Civic was pretty basic: a Kenwood KDC-MP8017 CD/MP3 receiver, Kenwood KFC-1687 6.5" 3-ways in the doors, a JL Audio CB110-W0 bandpass box, powered by a Kenwood KAC-819 mono sub amp.

Funny thing is, I'm not a Kenwood fan. I just got all these items pretty cheap.

is it just me, or do those look flimsy?

youll probably need to make a 1 inch spacer out of mdf for the fronts to fit.

Install didn't require a spacer, I modified the plastic "basket" with a Dremel to allow for the additional depth of the Kenwood mids.

The tweeters fit in the stock locations with very little trouble, and there was even room on the door panel in which to mount the crossovers. I stuck them in place on the inside of the door panel with adhesive backed velcro.

Even without an amp, these components sound much better than the stock speakers.

So far I've only installed the Kenwood deck (MP8017) and the component speakers shown above. It's a great improvement over the stock deck and door speakers, but life without sub bass sucks.
