My BP1200 on 2 older 12W6's does not get hot at all, just a little warm.
Besides, are you gonna be pushing your subs at max volume for 45 minutes at a time???? If so, get some ear plugs!!!!

I've heard too many people bitching saying JL's don't hit hard, which is bullshit. So I ask them what type of amps their using and they reply with Sony XPlod, Kenwood, Boss, JBL, Pyramid, Alpine, etc.
I know people don't have tons of money to throw around like I do, and I understand you have a certain budget to stick to, but if I was in your situation, I would save and save to buy the good stuff, not the junk that you will regret buying down the road.
JL subs sound the best when powered with their amps; it's simple as day and night!
I have two JL 12W6v2, each being feed the JL 250/1 amp, and it smokes people setups with four 12's, or 2 15's, etc.
Buy quality, not junk.

also, i dont understand why JL subs would sound so much better when theyre getting JL power,as opposed to other high end amps putting out power thats just as clean..

I love my JL Audio amp
best thing I've ever bought
I mean, I'm running a 300/2 to two 12's, and its almost perfect. Underpowered, but still, wow......

I don't think alpine or jbl is in the same category as Pyramid and sony. Especailly went it comes to their v12 stuff. There is cheap and there is bang for the buck. If jl amps were so much better everyone would be running them. Dont get my wrong i think they are good but they are not the only option to power jl subs.

I feel your pain. My next order of buisness for audio is to sell my kenwood amp and buy a 500/1, and move my 300/2 to my mids/highs
