Default jl audio 500/1 help

ok. i have two jl audio 12's (cant remember model number, but they are within 2 years old) powered by one jla 500/1 amp. everything is wired correctly and neatly, it worked before. but then it was taken out and put back in. now when the amp gets turned on the thermal light comes on with NO output to subs. the fuse is fine. anyone had/heard of similar problems?

thanks

Is the amp installed underneath a seat? Does the amp feel very hot to touch? What gauge is your power/ground wire? Make sure the ground wire hasnt loosened and is secure.

my screenname has officially been butchered.. wned:

thanks for the response. 4 ga. wiring for power and ground.
the ground is secured properly. the amp is NOT hot to the touch, and is sitting on the back of my read driver seat and the seat is folded down. it can breath.

Are you sure it's thermal light rather than the impedence light?
Take a look again to confirm. If it is the impedence light..then check how your speakers are wired to the amp... it shouldnt go below 1.5ohms.

Did you change any fuse before or after installation of the amp?

Otherwise I'm stumped.. I hope the others have some ideas for you bro.

its not the impendence light. there are three lights, power (green), thermal (red) and ohm (yellow/amber).. it is the middle one and is bright red. and no audio goes to the speakers.

im guessing this fuqing thing is busted. i looked inside, doesnt apear to be burnt or fried anywhere so im stumped too!

Just throwing an idea out there...
Did you check voltage at the postive amp terminal with a meter?
Is it getting enough juice?
