Default Infinity or Alpine Subs?

I'm looking to get some subs and right now I'm leaning towards either Infinitys (not the Kappa series I don't think) or Alpines. Here is what i'm looking at: 2 Infinity 12” 1200-Watt Subs, or 2 Alpine 12" 1000-Watt Subs. I want a good, clean sound at a reasonable price. Opinions? Experience with either of these? Better brand? Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't used either, but I've heard more good things about the Alpine Type-R's over the Inifinity Perfects. But that may also be due to the fact that the Perfects are an older sub (been out for like 4+ years now) and are not as popular anymore.

JL is WAY too overpriced.

The Perfects are great subs and the latest versions (dvc) are not very old. They provide great sound quality and provide a great kick. These may be the best bang for your buck.

I don't know much about the Alpine speakers, but they are a great brand and usually cheap too.

I'd go with the Infinitys.

I'm putting my vote in for the Alpine subs. They're really smooth sounding, handle a decent amount of power and based on my experience sound better than the Infinity subs. Just my opinion though. Let your ears make the final decision.

Alpine, I have had experience with many subs and for the price the Alpines pound. Also, they will handle more watts then they say 400 rms, bs they will easily handle 600 watts rms.
