Default What sub to get???

I'm looking to buy two 10's for my 98 Accord. I'm will to spend about 200.00 each per speaker. My question is what is the best 4ohm 10 incher out there for the money I am looking to spend. I was looking at the Kicker solo-barics or the Q-flame series by audiobahn. However I have a freind who swears by his MTX thunder series. Please advise. Also I need to get an amp to but these speakers. I am currently a soundstream 305S for the four speakers inside the car. Thanks:thumbup:

Having rocked a pair of Thunder's, 4000 series, I can attest to how hard they can hit, even with an inferior amp. But if you have $200 to spend on each, you have alot of options, especially since you want 10's. What is your preference, spl or sq? I know even us sq guys want some nice bump, that goes w/o saying, I just need to know if you want more spl instead of more quality sound.

yeah.. please please please... when forming your questions... let us know what kind of sound you want to expect...the price you can afford on both subs and amps.

Asking just "I need subs!" wont help any one of us

You are right. I am looking for SQ not SPL. I am also looking at paying about 300+ for an amp. My friend has a Planet Audio P400, However I was looking at either a JL Audio 300-2, Kicker KX500.2 or Xtant A6001T.

hmmm 2 10inch woofers and around 300 for amp.

Type R woofers are nice about $110 each ebay...
K series from Edesigns would do nicely as well about $145 each
Shiva's are another choice about $125 each

JBL 1200.1 about $300 on ebay.. nice bump baby!

Sorry my brain is doing database work and answerin questions on forums ... the others will suggest many many more, but the ones I listed arent bad either

how about a w3 or IDQ. both woofers i have used and enjoyed. and a jbl 600.1 to power them. shouldnt be more than a $500 setup.

the 1200.1 is a power hungry amp. if only my car can dish out that much juice. h:

I also like moofoo's suggestions for the Edesigns, Type R from Alpine and mmmm the Shiva by Adire. I also like and have always liked the sound of an Image Dynamics sub as suggested by Will. Let me throw some others into the hat...how about Phoenix Gold Tantrum series or even Octane R series subs? Maybe even a sub setup from Concept? As far as a sub amp goes...you can't go wrong with a JBL mono amp to run some subs. However, I'll say what I always do in these posts...Go to your local shop(s), listen and let your ears be the judge.

Better yet...go to caraudioforun and let the participants of that message board turn your brain to jelly making suggestions for you and literally brainwashing you into their beliefs like they did to PostGrungeJunky who participates on this board.
