im gonna get 12s pretty soon for my car but i dont know which ones to get. wat do u guys think is better the audiobahn high excursion subs, alpine type r, or the kicker l5?

 

Out of your 3, I like the L5 and then the Alpine Type R's.

Personally, I do not like Audiobahn at all becasue they're the most common subs at pawn shops and those big convention center style sales events.

No matter what you choose, just make sure you give them enough power.

 

i would think for sq go with type r's for louder the l5's. Just make sure you put it in a proper box too.

yeah i got a 1000 watt fosgate power amp right now i just need the subs and i dont know which ones. i always wondered if the alpine type r's get loud cause they are only 300 watts rms

 

Well how loud do you want it? Its probably a more honest rating that audiobahn. I have 1 ten and only 125 watts to it right now and it is loud enough for me. At 300 watts to each 12 it would be way to loud for me but thats just imo. The type r's can also hit 1000 watts peak. Do you want it to sound good or just loud?

 

i want it to sound loud. my bro had 2 10" audiobahn highexcursion subs in his civic and they were runnin with the same amp. they were pretty damn loud and clean but i wanted to know if the alpine would be able to compete with that and hit as hard. i want it to sound good but i also dont want it to not be that loud

 

i played 1 12 alpine type r with a rockford bd1000a1... played without hiccups

 

if you want loud and dont care a ton bout sq, then l5's or better yet get some l7's. i have one 12 and its plenty loud for me. ive heard nothin but good outta the alpines tho too. stay away from audiobahn. i just think they are all show.
