its a 600 watt mono amp at 1 or 2OHM. you can find it for under $200 easily on ebay.

Parallel the 2 4ohm (SVC's) subs to get a 2ohm load. The JBL maxes power at 2 ohms and is also stable at 1 ohm.

yes. if they are SVC 4OHM.

and the thing about the JBL amp. you dont have to wire them in any special way. there will be 2 sets of outputs. just wire each sub to each set of outputs, the amp will wire the rest to get a mono load.

The profile amp looks like an amp that could be found at a swamp meet, but crutchfields sells the line so it must mean it meets their standard. Which Type R sub do you have: The SWR-1221D or the 1241D? Difference between the two is that one's a 2 ohm and the other's a 4. Power handling are the same.

I don't wanna put down a amp just cuz i never heard of it before but yea it'd be best to do some research on it before you purchase, especially if you're going to buy it from ebay. Gotta watch out for refurbished items. Also the amp you linked could be an older generation model.

Definitely the JBL 600.1 as long as you don't have any loyalty to Profile.

I have a profile amp as a temp. sub amp until I get the JBL 600.1

its "400w" but the thing reads more like 100 to each sub. Definatly crappy with two 12s unless you want a more even sound (I'll admit the setup its perfect for rock). But I rather have phatter bass since I can control the sub output through the HU.

never buy profile :nono:
