How the faulk do i run the power cable thru the firewall from the amp(97 civic, 2 dr)????? Please help, im going nutz!!1

look for a little plastic circular piece underneath the dash board on the drivers side...
it pops right out...
you pop it out... drill a hole just a bit bigger than the power wire sie.. feed it through and push that plastiv piece back into the firewall.

 

i find it easier to look for that groumet from the firewall. its a bish sticking your head under the dash.

 

i forgot to mention to look for that piece under the desh... it's covered by a piece of lining that looke like =O=

you'll see it cut out in the lining underneath the desh

 

The easiest hole to access is on the passenger side firewall.
From the engine bay, you'll have to remove the battery to have access to it because it's below and to the right of the battery. Once the battery is out, you'll see a rubber grommet a little bigger than a quarter. Pull that out. That hole goes to the feet area on the passenger side. You'll have to remove some clips and stuff in order to be able to pull the carpet back to pull the power cable through.

I have a 1992 civic... Wanted to know if it would be the same to get through the firewall on that???

 

On my old 89 Accord and now on my 96 Prelude... we found the best way to run the 4 guage wire that I'm using is to drill our own hole instead of trying to find a place where it MIGHT go through.

By drilling we were able to cut off at least 6-8 extra feet of cable needed to run to the trunk.

 

on my 5th gen accord, i drilled a hole through the metal firewall under my glovebox.
on my friend's V6 5th gen, the battery is on the driver side so I looked for that plastic plug where the wiring harness goes to the engine. Take a kitchen knife and stab that rubber piece; you should be able to get a 4 or 8 gauge wire through there easily with the help of a screwdriver.
