building new system...please help...
question: if the clarion sub is DVC 4 ohm...dont i need a 4 ohm amp to power it? if i use anything other than 4 ohm doesnt it do something funky to the subwoofer? im sorry...ive tried studying this "OHM" business...but im still TOTALLY confused as to how it all works...
if i get a heavier hitting sub i was thinking 1 - 12in sub is enough. if i get some lightweights...i think i might need to get 2 -12s...what do you guys think?
as for hearing the subs...i think they just came out so not that many stores carry them...they were due out march of 2003 so i think they are just hitting stores...
for the pioneer subs...which series are you talkin about? are you talking about like the lowest series? i think each company has like different lines and different models...

a SVC sub at 4 ohm would be wired up as 4 ohms
an 2 svc subs would be wired as 2 or 8 ohms
a dvc 4 ohm sub gets wired as 2 or 8
2 dvc subs would wire 1 or 4 ohms...
check www.ikesound.com and check for their pioneer sub that costs 40 and 45 bucks... i forget the exact model
aiite...i still dont get it but its ok. ill let you guys know what happens with the setup. im gonna ask my buddy if he can get the amp that looks just like the arc audio one. the amp that i was actually looking at was the newer line of clarion amps. so im not sure. but once i get prices and stuff ill decide on something.
thanx so much for the help and comments.
