i have a kenwood and im very happy with it. looks very similar to mine cept its silver and mine is black and mine has more colors to it. i pointed out one before that has a full spectrum of options for the face i can find it again if you would like.
here ya go... i think its a level below the one your currently looking at. i think the pre outs arent as nice (4.5 all around on the one your looking at) but you get the color display option:
theres the head unit.....
its called the KDC-MPV7019
and here is the link to the page of info on it:
http://www.kenwoodusa.com/product/p...&productId=2407
btw: i have found that thier suggested retail on that page is at least $150 over what you would find the unit for in a store like say tweeters or something along those lines. my head unit was $200 less then what they suggested it for. i know the price on there is kinda scary but check it out in a store it will be cheaper.
both are nice units

i saw that one at best buy, they only thing i dont like about it is the fact that it just kinda flops open, the one i picked actually moves open and shut. i saw the one i like at best buy too, but they wanted 479. it looks pretty spiffy in real life.

the display is nice, kinda small but it does the job... the buttons are very cheap... turning that knob feels like you're playing with a childs toy. I personally dont like how the preset buttons are "2-in-1". But, over all that, it has good sound... I just think Kenwood is going down hill as well when it comes to quality.

huviduc i definately see what your sayin with that HU as well. i had just remembered your post about colors being a factor. the HU that you posted is nice too... i like it. i enjoy my HU and i like having double the presets on my face the double buttons dont bother me at all. thats all a matter of personal opinion tho... if you like it go for it!

I correct myself... the deck I played with that seemed cheaply built was a factory defect unit... I was just at the place and he had a new one on display... everything seems pretty solid... i'd say more-so than their older units...

I have a 2 year old Kenwood Excellon. Very please with it, paid $470 back then. The only complaint, the power face had a hickup and stayed closed for a week. I checked all the fuses and then one day it poped open. It's suppose to open when you turn the ignition. Other than that, a great unit. You can finely tune your system with this thing, it's awesome. I'm hoping it will break eventually so I can get an Eclipse HU put in. Now those are bad a$$!!!

huviduc, i have that same headunit. I absolutly love it. the face folds in the dash so if im in a rush, i can be assured that its not obvious i have a cd player in there. also, the 4.5v preouts sound amazing, so if you're hooking up amps, you'll be very happy with sound quality. mp3s read quick too. only downside to this deck is that there are alot of sound options to change. i finally have set everything to where it sounds best to me after a couple months. other than that I have not had a single problem with it.
