Default ok.. the subwoofer search has been increased

i know ive asked this 100 times, but now im really serious about getting them.

since christmas is coming very soon, and i am about to get some decent pay checks in a week i really want to find a decent setup.

i hear everyone talks about ID's, but how pricey are those?

all i listen to is rap, so i probably want 2 12's. what are you guys running, whats a good setup (amp and subs) for a lot of bass with a resonable price. ill let you guys decide what is resonable, so name anything.

thanks

JBL BP600.1 pushing 2 Cerwin Vega HED DVC(4ohm coils) 12's
$200 for the amp, around $160 for the subs.

Kicker, kicker, kicker. 1 Solobaric 12" L7 in a ported box, you wont be disappointed. A KX1200.1 from Kicker will run that well too, but it is expensive. I am picking one up for my L7 I think, but you could get away with any decent D-class putting out 750W RMS plus.

It's to be square

I told you so!!!

The new ID line from Image just came out, and is supposed to be pretty nice. The only ID dealer in my town carries virtually no stock (they sell mostly JL). The MSRP on the 8" is around 110. An IDQ V2 will run you around 200 new (authorized) or around 125 elsewhere, but the V3's are supposed to be out around CES time....when the new series is out, I'm sure sounddomain.com will have them on sale.

Instead of a pair of 12's, why not an IDMAX?

Just go buy a pair of JL 12W3V2's with a JL 500/1 amp ($1000 or less for all, depending on area) and be happier than you thought you could be.... Image Dynamics are wicked tight but I prefer JL. Whatever you do, don't buy Kicker. They're going down the drain faster than Pioneer! Heck, faster than Rockford Fosgate and they're on a decent downhill pace. Kicker used to be quality, now I compare them to Audiobahn...I give them 3-4 years and they will either shut down or turn into another Pyramid owned company...
