Default resetting security code

Hey guys
I'm new to the forum and this is my first time so be gentle with me My battery went dead on my 97 Acura and this caused my radio to want the security code. I tried three times just playing around and now it says err-3. A friend of mine found my code, but now I don't know how to put the code in. Do I need to disconnect the battery again or can I do some sort of button sequence on the radio to input the code?
Thanks
Mary

the easiest way is to disconnect the battery again... you have to leave it disconnected for a short period of time (try a minute or so) to let the radio reset. You can also pull the memory fuse (located in the under-hood fuse box usually), its normally a 7.5 amp fuse... also, leave it out for a minute or so.

once its powered back up, put the proper code in and you should be all set.

good luck.
