Any good radar detectors?? Please list name and brands. What do I look for in a radar?

 

Valentine 1.....very good but very expensive
Escort 8500...also very good, slightly cheaper at $300...

I own a V1. I bought it used from a member of another online forum for $325 shipped. It's very sensitive. However, I've yet to run into any radar traps at all..... To me it's the BEST. But some others like the Escort 8500.

 

What about radar jammers? Circuit city sells them now.

 

What is the difference with those$250 ones and the $40 ones? they all do K KA X and lazer right?

 

I have a bel 980 and i like it....i bought it a while back and i think it's been replaced by the new vector 985. The passport 8500 is also pretty good...i heard the V1's aren't that great. A lot of people swear by them but they are kind of weak on Ka band detection...they are good on K and Laser but most the cops around here use superwide KA band these days.

i got's brand new passport 8500s for sale... 250+shippin'.. don't know how much longer i'll be selling tho.

 

I wouldnt trade my 8500 for anything else on the market....
very few false alarms, awesome distance
never had a ticket, better yet...ive never even been pulled over
its saved me enough to have paid for itself quite a few times.
