Default new ID subs.

does anyone know if the 10" IDMAX is out yet?

also, heres an idea ive been thinking about.

right now i have a 12" IDQ in a ported box. the bass is great, no problems with that.

but ID is coming out with a 8" sub soon. how will the setup with a 8" sub under the seats sound compared to the 12" i have now.

i know this is a vague question....

The IDMAX10 is not available as of yet. Also, the IDMAX V3's are just filtering out....very slowly though. The IDMAX16 will be the last to be released.

For the second half of your queston....GIVE ME MY SUB BACK!!! I never should have sold it!!!!

I have heard no noise what-so-ever about an ID 8 in driver. Hopefully they will when they go for the IDQv3's. If they do, I'm guessing that it will be more of a midbass driver, not a subwoofer. Also, mounting depth will be a real isue. Even if you were able to cram an 8" under the seat, the low frequency extension wouldn't even touch that 12" setup. I wish they never would have discontinued the IDQ8. They may build a larger CX mid driver as well....

If you really want up front bass, you are going to have to really work for it. A few options woulld be to use either the JL6W0 or those Focal 5" subs (5ws or something). The problem with upfront bass, is securing it to make sure it doesn't hint to its location.

I've been bass-less since the day I sold it to you...enough said. That was, and still is my fav woofer.

I havn't gotten a chance to install the MAX yet...it's still sitting in the box all wrapped up with everything else you see in my signature I have to finish my brother's install before I start mine!!

It was an IDQ 12 V2 D2. I also gave him two boxes...one was a sealed, 0.85 ft^3, Q-Logic. The other was a ported box I built, about 1.25 net, 1.5 gross, braced, slot ported with 10 sq inches of port, tuned to around 32 Hz.

Will....which box is it in now?

its in the ported one right now. i had it in the Q for about 2 days, then swapped it back.

i may go back to the Q, or try to build a ported of my own to use the space in my trunk better.

i have a max.. d2. its running off my audiobahn A18001DQ (1800x1 @ 1 ohm rms) and with the gain all the way down it distorted and hit past its xmax.. the surround actually dimpled.. at very low volumes it sounded fine, but if i turned it up the slightest bit, it would distort and flip out on me.. so i sent it back and am waiting for it...impatiently!! i am thinking about selling it and buying a brahma.. i dunno, it depends on how it sounds when i get it back. the new v3 sounds pretty nice.. maybe i'll upgrade to that. who knows. the brahma is 1600w rms, so its a lil more suited for my amp. for the time i had my max in my car it was in a custom built 1.6 cube sealed box.. sounded nice, but it was only loud when it was being pushed way too hard.

Well, you have enough power for two!! The surround will dimple when pushed hard, that's just part of the game. The V3 is more efficient then the original, so you are still up a creek. You also have it in the largest recommended sealed box (excluding an IB alignment) that is going to decrease power handling some more.

Why not just wire it to 4 ohm and call it a day...should be plenty of power for a great SQ system....the original max will hit Xmax with around 600-700W.

Sounds like you are just beating the **** out of it....
