Default Civic and Dice unit

Ijust purchased the R3 Dice unit for my 07 Civic Coupe (w/o Nav) to use with my Gen 5 iPod (just purchased). I have also used this unit with my Gen 4 iPod. I have the same problem with both units. Sometimes the Honda stereo doesn't recognize the iPod, which I can get around if I restart the car, and the steering wheel controls don't always control the iPod. Also I don't always get the 'time elapsed' displayed in the text display of the Honda stereo. Both my iPods and the Honda stereo work fine otherwise.
Any ideas?

Hey JQ, do you have any pictures of the kit in operation in your car I could have?
