Default Alpine amp error codes...

ive had one 300 watt alpine amp pushin my 2 alpine type S 12"s, and today i got another 200 watt alpine amp from my friend, so i wired them up and now they both turn on and the new amp bumps them, my old one turns on and says ER-3 which i looked up online and i think means excessive current? im not sure what that exactly means but it makes no sense that 1 would work and the other wouldnt since theyre both hooked up to basically the same wires

A less vague description of how they're hooked up would be nice. Model numbers of amps, HU model, associated wiring, etc.

excessive current? im guessing it is trying to tell you the Ohm loads is to low...

what year are the type S subs from? are they dual voice coil? if yes i can almost guarantee that you hooked them up to 1 Ohm.

What model Amp do you have?

let us know

that would work and all with the PDX amp but those subs sound better at 2 ohms...but thats my opinion

Edit: what type ARRRGH's are you getting? dual4ohm or dual 2ohm?

rockford has an amp sold at best buy that is 1200RMS at 1 ohm...two type Rs to that sounds amazing... we have done it twice at my best buy... the kenwood 9103D can run 1 ohm as well but it will heat up more then the RF(get a service plan)
