Default JVC KD XL10 problems

I've wired the receiver to the factory harness , but wont fire up. Took the yellow wire from the wiring harness and ran it direct to the battery and unit will power up only for a few moments. There was a security system installed but I have disconnected it.

Any ideals?

CD door opens then shuts off again. A few times the keyboard will come out then shut down. Sometimes I get power surges then nothing.

I pulled the unit from my truck and it worked fine. Trying to figure out if the security system that was installed effects the unit. Right now Im charging the car battery as I havent swapped motors yet....Jack

Not impossible, but I find it hard to believe as I stored it back into its original box and has been sitting in the cabinet.

Yes.. One was used with the Alpine in the 93 civic. I just reused it in the 95 with the JVC....Jac
