Default Which Navi to get?

I'm looking at buying a navi/dvd system like the pioneer avic-n1. I don't want to spend anymore than a N1, but I'm stuck on finding a good competetor, any idea's? anyone heard good/bad things about these. TIA

ive heard to bypass the "parking brake switch" is a pain in the ass on the AVIC models.. If your dash allows, I'd go with the Kenwood DDX6019.... ( i love that one )....

Its not like the previous models where you connect that parking brake wire to the ground wire, providing constant ground which allowed you to view the screen while the car was in drive.

The new AVIC's are a pain to do anything with, the N1 is easy.

Having both an indash unit (Kenwood KN510 - which is actually a Garmin GPS) and a portable GPS unit (Garmin nuvi 610), I would recommend the portable one. You can transfer it into any car you have or rental car for those long trips. Plus, for some reason, its a bit faster... at least with the two units I have. I also like the portable unit also because it's right there on the windshield where as the indash, I have to look down... making it a bit dangerious on those busy freeways/roads.
