just fiberglass the wheel well and work from there. the way that guy on that website made his is a free air system and would sound sloppy on a non free air sub.

Word. lol

I'm glad you explained it to me. Telling me it was ghetto without explaining why was like you seeing a booger hanging from my nose, and not telling me. :chuckles:

Pun intended

Thanks I'll find someone local to help me do it right. The idea is just too good to pass up. In no way do I want it to sound sloppy. :nervous:

it's not really hard to do, it'll take some time. here's a lil general how-to
http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...TID=74519&PN=1

lurk around the the12volt forum and you'll pick up some hints on how to do it. but be prepared to smell resin in your car for awhile.

Good lookin' out. That's a pretty clean result.

It does look like work though. I'll give myself some room for growth.

I feel ashamed for the guy with the sub in the first link. If you're going to do a wheel well sub, learn to fiberglass. That set up is so....Bad... And the grill... :nervous: Thats scary and looks sloppy, at least to me.
If you are going to lay down carpet over your sub, don't use the car carpet. I saw some guy on ICIX forums that did a wheel well sub. What he did was mounted the car carpet onto a board and cut out a hole where it would cover the subwoofer. He then took some speaker fabric, the same color as his carpet and mounted it over a flat grill covering the subwoofer. The cover could be removed if he wanted to show off the goods. It looked really clean and he could still put things over the subwoofer without worrying. It also sounded well, as he said.
By putting car carpet over the sub it will sound nasty and muffled because the carpet is thick and doesn't breathe at all.

Anyone have a video? Car Audio wants $40 for a quality how-to. Thinking I could spend more money in supplies for a first failed attempt.
