Blowing Subwoofers- Video Inside
I plugged my subwoofers into the wall socket to blow them.

I had two 10 inch subs that were about to go out of the stores plan, and I wanted new ones because I didn't think they sounded as nice as before. The store didn't agree with me, and said they would only give me new ones if they were blown.
When I took the subs out of the sealed box, the box was filled with smoke. It had a weird smell like burnt rubber, static, and burnt metal.
The cone was stiff, you couldn't push it in at all, unlike working speakers.

i did the same thing. hooked up a 100 watt 8in infinity sub. the thing was my uncles in college so it's like 25+ years old. it took it for about 2 seconds then shot the dust cap off and sparked like crazy
This was less than a year ago. I used the new subs for about 5 or 6 months then got new ones.
By the way, I have the replacement subs for sale if anyone wants them!

And amps and my other eD sub.. Man, I have to sell this stuff...
