im planning on putting a small sytem to add some bass to me 1992 integra GS ..wondering if any one had any pictures of cool set ups.....

Shallow_Bay 09-21-2006 07:37 PM

you can really let your imagination run wild with where you put things and how you wire them. remember, the more you have your stuff sticking out in the open, the easier it is for theives to see and steal.

dleccord 09-21-2006 08:35 PM

this is my 145.9 setup:

come on man be serious

dleccord 09-22-2006 06:05 AM

im all about install, not cleaness. two different things. believe whatever you want to believe. yeah you're. it might even be 147 by now.

That shit is 147dbs.... :hsughr:

mr22na 09-22-2006 07:02 AM

why does uor sub have black glue around the center cone??????no way thats 147DB u have to be pushing more then 1000watts RMS dont belive show a recpet from a local sound shop....

dleccord 09-22-2006 07:09 AM

heh. like i said, believe what you want to believe... did i not? and who said i was running 1000rms? and at what impedance? get real. pics dont do justice for shit.

pnthr30 09-22-2006 07:58 AM

Admittedly, this is nothing crazy or over the top, but it serves its purpose (quality sound for various types of music at pretty much any volume, as well as preserving as much trunk space as possible - and is still pretty clean)....IMHO this turned out pretty well for my first DIY (this setup is several years old already).

Car: 99 Integra GS sedan
HU: Pioneer Premier DEH-P730;
Front Door Speakers - Infinity Reference 6000cs;
Rear Speakers - Alpine Type R 6x9's;
Amps - Rockford Fosgate Punch 400a4 (front and rear speakers) and Rockford Fosgate Punch 250a2 (box);
One 10" Alpine Type R sub in a sealed box;

thats clean. is that a prefab box?

mr22na 09-22-2006 09:32 AM

for 147 DB it would have to be close to 1000RMS...if not how many OHMS an what is the RMS ???....what kinda sub is that...never seen that befor..what kinda amp is that tooo???

dleccord 09-22-2006 09:39 AM

for the record, there are people that have hit 150 deebeez off as little as 500watt amps, by that i mean 500rms.

i cant tell you what i roll with for obvious reasons:)

man are you friggen joking? whatever "people" told you that, were either fuckin with you or are just stupid as hell.

dleccord 09-22-2006 10:52 AM

i take it that you dont believe in spl fart boxes?

No, I made it myself.......

b00gers 09-22-2006 12:01 PM

150 dbs is pretty impressive for a 500 watts. Now is this an amp producing 500 watts? Or an amp rated at 500 watts?

Like I said before, this was my first attempt at anything like this..........as such, the "behind the scenes" is probably not 100% perfect/correct, or the way a "professional" would do it, but it does work, and looks half way decent when it is all put together. That being said, there is no question that I would do some things differently if I did another one, but it was a fun, and educational, build.

The only thing that I did change almost immediately, is that I added a grill to the sub (I use my trunk often). ...... I don't have any pictures of the sub with the grill, but it looks like this:

dleccord 09-22-2006 07:29 PM

you got skills man.

totalimmortal 09-23-2006 07:29 AM

^^And you dont. Anyone can say they hit 150db's, you have no proof.

t3t4delsol 09-23-2006 08:29 AM

i have a jlw3d12 running a 1200 watt alpine v12 at 2 ohms, in a sealed box and i highest i have ever hit on the db test is 139.7 decalibles, and that on one 12 with no dynomat or any sound deadning

totalimmortal 09-23-2006 09:28 AM

I think It's been decided he's :bs:

theoretically, by putting it in a ported box you can gain up to 3 dbs, and you can gain up to 3 dbs by deadening your trunk. remember i say theoretically.

totalimmortal 09-23-2006 03:51 PM

You allready have, you have no proof.

dleccord 09-23-2006 06:18 PM

fvck the proof. if you dont believe it. dont. im hittin a 50 with my setup. joe hittin 150 with a 10r. schmoe hittin low 70s with a dd 12. i dont care. there just numbers. but then again what do i know? they're nothing but bs.

b00gers 09-23-2006 08:47 PM

Ok, lets keep this thread for pictures of our systems. :) Discussions about Db can be had in a new thread.

dleccord 09-23-2006 09:29 PM

booger....wheres your setup?

Mine is very bare. And NOTHING show worthy. But I love the sound. :hs:

scotttharobot 09-24-2006 10:07 AM

13kv2? I used to have a pair of those (also had a 16ov2, and a NINe.1, got stolen though)... pretty decent subs.

And DLEAccord, I am sure you did hit 145.9. These people just don't know what DD's are capable of... is that a 9515, or a 3515? I've seen 153's done with a lesser 15".

Guys, these DD subs are insane. There acutally was a guy with a DD 12" that was doing low 170's, it's completley possible with the right box design. It's a fart box... it's designed to play the loudest frequency, and that's mainly all it does.

dleccord 09-24-2006 12:03 PM

thanks for attesting to that. thats not dd. its an aq hd3 12 w/ dd cap. they have been tested and the results show that this sub and the 9512 has been within .1 db marginal with each other and that both came from the same build house, check out audioque.com. if that makes any sense. bs huh?

M@rshy 09-24-2006 01:54 PM

My current sub:
http://static.flickr.com/46/18281376...5ecc3c.jpg?v=0
Elemental Designs 11kV.2 D4 10" sub in a custom tuned and built ported box, tuned to 30Hz.
Same as Wills. I decided that this is too big for my car(CRX) and that I would actually like a trunk. So I ordered 2 Elemental Designs EU-700s 6.5" subs to go in a sealed box.
http://static.flickr.com/120/2509120...b66565.jpg?v=0

I might build a sealed box for my 11kV.2 sub, if I have enough wood left and if I can't sell it. I haven't decided yet.

burnrubber 09-24-2006 05:14 PM

not meaning to get off subject again, but i have 2 rf12s and i have hit 137dB running 408rms, so 500rms hitting 150dB is possible, if it is a type r alpine, i know one can hit 143-145 with the proper amp

dleccord 09-24-2006 08:09 PM

type Rs are not hard to get loud:). build yourself a custom box and feed it 800-2000watts. it will hit anywhere from the low 40s to high 40s.

now more pics people...

scotttharobot 09-24-2006 09:58 PM

Ahh yes, the Audioque's...

Nice to see alot of eD equipment on this board? I'm fairly active over @ ICIXsound.com... I went down to Iowa for the meet this summer...

Thats pretty cool. I lurk around ICIX from time to time. The builds that some of those guys have are amazing. Wish I had the time / money / skills to do some of that.

I am still waiting on the a bigger 4 channel amp from them. :D I think once that comes out, I can ditch my old school Fosgate 600a4.

M@rshy 09-24-2006 10:29 PM

I've been hitting ICIXsound lately.

I'm thinking of building my box into the tray behind my front seats, but I'm having trouble trying to find the cover so I can do it.

mr22na 09-25-2006 07:50 AM
