I have a OEM 6 disc cd changer from a 2001 accord ex would it fit/work in a 1997 accord special edition?

It will work, but you have to make it work. You'll need a harness adapter to fit your car and then a harness to plug into the newer deck, both can be found at www.partsexpress.com or on ebay. You'll also need to come up with a bracket to mount to the rear of the radio, like your OEM deck is mounted.
