sorry im a diamond whore, ive never heard speakers that i like better than my hexes. get the silk tweet if you listen to rock. amp is up to you, but i would recomend a 4ch and bridge it to 2ch becuase rear speakers are FTL and can be run off your head unit. alpine is always good too. especially if you can get an employee at best buy to hook you up. slip them a 20 and they will prolly hook you up.

The Hex's are great components.

My personal favorites right now are the Elemental Designs eDi 6500's.

Inexpensive, very impressive midbass and overall in-your-face components. They handle a ton of power, and have a 3yr warranty to boot. eD is also a stellar company when it comes to customer service.

IMO- if you are looking for a "warm" set of comps, look elsewhere. These are just in your face, extremely loud components. They sound better as you constantly turn them up.

Agreed. Even the 6000s are great for the money.

If they would fit in my door, I would have those instead of my 5.75" Focals.

Sorry, probably should have been more clear. I have a 99 Integra sedan. It takes 5.75" speakers in the front. I made about 4 baffles for it to take the 6.5", but the mounting depth was the problem. There was a brace directly behind the speaker hole that would hit the magnet. Trust me, I tried just about everything short of making a fiberglass enclosure and cutting sheetmetal to get them to fit. I end up selling them to someone on this board.

If I had money I'd try one of those ^

these are amazing speakers. but they're not exactly 6.5"

focal is french, so they're 165mm, a little bigger.

I had to cut new holes for my set, but they're so worth it. everyone who's ever rode in my car has complemented them.
