yes i have a problem with my subs. when i cut the subs on they will play for a lil while and than cut off but after a couple of mins they will cut on and than cut off the amp stays on while the subs do that so can sumbody tell me sumthing

 

Give us a little more details.

What are the model of the subs? Model of amp? How are they wired together?

While you do that, check the wiring and make sure they are all on solidly. Does the amp get really hot?

 

well i have two alpine type r sub and a alpine mono amp and the subs are bridge and the amp gets hot at times

 

When the sub starts skipping, does the amp stay on or go into protection mode? And when it happens, is the amp really hot?

Whats the impedance of the subs? And how are the voice coils wired up?

 

the amp stays on but when i cut the cd player up a lil the cds skip because of the bass but the independce of the subs is 4 and they is hook up paralle

 

what is the model number of the amp? sounds like the subs are pulling too much power from the amp sending it into protect.

 

if its a 2 channel amp more than likely your amp doesn't like 2ohms and is going into protect mode and also you could be clipping your amp. what are the setting on the amp set to?

 

I think all Alpine Type Rs are dual voice coils. If they are 4 OHM and wired in parallel, then parallel again to the mono amp, then its probably at a 1 OHM load. It is more than likely if this is the case that the amp cant handle such a low impedance.
