anyone know how to install front door speakers to a 98 honda accord? do i need to take off the whole door panel? if so, how? is it easy to put back on? thanks

 

yeah you have to take off the door panels. if you have power windows take the plastic part out first and disconnect the power. then take the screw out of the cup on the door and there might be another one around the edge of the door. once you have all of the screws out pull at the bottom of the door panel and it will pop right off. and just push it back on. its not really hard

They're 6.5's. Most aftermarket speakers require modification of the OEM bracket and/or MDF spacers to be installed.

 

do some searching on here and on honda-tech, there are detailed write-ups with pics on door panel removal. it's pretty easy, and almost the same on most hondas.

 

you wont need spacers unless you are going to run a 4 chanel amp to the door speakers and the speakers have a big magnet on them. and you still dont need the spacers but your windows wont roll down all the way. the light color wire is positive dark is neg

 

so yeah use the spacer and do it the right way. so what difference does having a 4ch amp make? i'm running full active for my components in my doors and it doesn't matter if i ran amp or not even with shallow infinitys i still used the spacer and the stocks do so too.

 

it all depends on what you want to do. if you want to go big, big sound, high-end speakers, you need big power to drive them. if you just want to put in a nice deck and have better than stock sound, get a nice pair of 2 ways and be done with it.

 

thats what i was saying like if you run high end speakers then you will need an amp or you will not have much better sound then stock

 

stock stereos are pretty midrange. nice speakers on a stock headunit won't sound that good, and a nice headunit on stock speakers won't sound that good. you usually have to replace them both.
