Default Programming the "option" button HELP

Hi all~
Looking for advice on programming the "option" button for our 1999 Honda Accord LX. The keyless fob has the lock/unlock & panic button...but also has a "option" button to use on the trunk. When we bought the car it was programmed to use on the doors...but the trunk release or "option" button isn't working. We do have the book, but all it says is to "see Honda dealer"when mentioning the "option" button.

Anyone have any ideas how we can do this on our own? We are a small family auto dealer and like many of you...we'd rather not pay to have this feature dealt with.
Thanks!

The remote and keyless system are already programmed to work the trunk release, your car is just lacking the power trunk latch. You'll want to find a trunk opener kit, it was a dealer installed accessory that replaces the non-power trunk latch with a power operated one.

Here are the instalation instructions, you'll also see the part # at the top of the page: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/.../20032_01.html

If you cannot read the part number (I had trouble) it is: 08E49-S84-100H, looks to be $35 from the dealer or $27 from that same site, www.hondaautomotiveparts.com

Thanks for the info...just wondering how we can tell if we do have the correct trunk latch but it's just not funtioning properly. There DOES appear to be a wire running from it.

There will already be a harness connected to the trunk latch, this is for the trunk light and the the "open" light on the dash. You should be able to search around and find the other connector taped to the harness near the trunk latch.
