Default How much thump?!

How much thump thump you got in your bump bump? lol I tought I had a crappy HU and Amp, but I only turn my HU up to 10 (it can go to 30) and the seats are shakn' like crazy, I can't see out of the side mirrors or the rearview mirror, and it's just deafning. Believe it or not I have a Pioneer DEH-27MP (someone gave it to me, so I didn't complain!) a Jensen 220W MAX, yes MAX, and one 12" MA Audio Sub with 1000W peak. I also have a Low Pass crossover on the sub, (how well do those actually work, does anyone know?) and this setup is great, but I'm upgrading. I'm lookn at a Kicker 12" and a 300W RMS amp. I was lookn at Radio Shack and the salesman and I went to the sealed off room and messed around with different setups of subs hooked up to a 1000w amp. The Rockford Fosgate was 12" in a ported box, nutn great at all, there was one Alpine 12" in like a $600 box, that blasted away EVERYTHING! then 2 12" Kickers in a ported box and the Kickers sounded SOOOOOOOO much better than the Rockford!

A subwoofer corssover is an inductor. Inductors resist changes in current flow. High frequency sounds have rapidly changing currents and in-turn will not pass through the inductor. They work just fine, there really isn't many other choices available aside from electronic crossovers.

And in layman's terms, a crossover prevents stops certain frequencies from reaching the speaker, while allowing others.

The gain is not a volume knob. You should search through the FAQs and find out how to properly set them. You can easily damage your stuff if you keep playing with it

Depends on the model, the L7s can get plenty loud. But there are better out there. h:

well, the 2 12" Rockford Fosgate, with 1000w amp sounded crappy compared to 2 12" kickers, and the Alpine 12" dominated!
