i had this same prob and it was the in-line circuit breaker wasnt the right size for the amp and it couldnt handle the power going through it...before you go get a huge power cable look at your in-line fuse/circuit breaker and see how many amps it is....usually standard 20 or 40 amp fuses are used

I have no idea what size inline fuse is in there. It came with the amp kit. The fuse hold is only a black casing so I wanted to upgrade it anyway. When I tried the second amp the sub still worked fine. The green light would blink and I would hear the sub catch a single but that is it.

If the fuse cant handle the power going through it, it will pop. That is how a fuse functions.
