Default Alarm Topic

As we all knows, tegs are stolen often. Im in oregon, and own a 97 GSR. I want an alarm for around $150-200 bucks with ignition kill and a pager remote. Post what ya got, and if you like it model #'s are ideal on this one!

Are you going for 150-200 for the alarm and install?

I recommend the Viper 791xv(remote start and pager alarm) or Viper 5000(pager alarm).

I would say try Ebay. Make sure you check out the features before you buy to see if it fits your needs! Keep in mind that if you can find the 791 easier it can be installed without hooking up the remote start part. I have done this several times on different cars.

$210: viper 791xv.. 2x shock sensors, motion sensor, hood sensor, trunk sensor, door sensors, outside and inside siren, 2 way pager, remote start, backup battery. i installed it myself and added an ignition kill.

no matter what car alarm you have however, if a theif wants your car (turbo, rare engine, lots of custom fab) bad enough.. they will just drill through the fender/battery and drain it, then open the hood, disconnect the alarm, put a new battery in. this is why i would also highly recomend a backup battery ($20) for the alarm if your car is a big target.
