Default Matching earphone level to line level

Anyone have the specs (voltage, impedance) of earphone and line levels?

I hooked up my ipod via pbus to my Pioneer deck and I have to max the volume on the ipod, and near max on the HU just to hear it at a normal level. This proves to me that earphone level is either lower than line level, or line level has a significantly higher impedance.

You may need something to gain it up. On my Scosche modulator I have again screw that I can adjust the level...

No, I bought the inline FM Modulator. It works really well for $30. CD quality if you set the gain correctly...
