Default alpine type r

i was wondering if i should get the alpine type r speakers. the 6x9 for the back and the 6.5 for the front. it sounds pretty good, but one my friends said tha it sucks cuz it only has 55rms . does anyone heard the alpine type r or has it? put in some input about the speakers. also what is some good amps that would go with these???

The Type R component 6.5's are sweet. If my Accord didn't already have boston acoustics in it from the previous owner, I'd throw some Type R's in. Your gonna definatly want to amp Type R Components, the 6X9's will do fine by themselves(assuming you have an aftermarket H/U) as they are really more for fill anyway.

yeah i've heard the type r components and i thought they were good. most compents don't need that much power but clean power will make a world of a difference. ask him what your friend is comparing them to. i've put them with the jl amp and sounded nice. the last season v12 alpine amps are really awesome. but what kind of price range are you thinking about?

if you're using type r components, you're gonna need to amp them. juss a small "cheater" amp would work... they come with the x over for exactly that. add a seperate amp for the subwoofer. so yes, amp both, but i'd do it seperately. the sub needs more power, so running the components off of a seperate amp is the way to go. gonna rock the type r subs too? they sound really nice

Coaxials do better unamped than components do, but they will still sound better none the less.
