The last 2 days i noticed at times when listenig 2 my system (2 12" subs, 750 rockford fossgate amp w/ bass remote,NO CAP) my abs light came on, and 2day when it happend my radio started over(powered off then on). Just wondering is my alternator going bad. In my last car Nissan 240sx my e-brake light came on when my alternator went. Is the abs light the sign for the '97 gs tegs

are you sure you hooked everything up correctly?

 

yea double check the wiring for the system. how many miles you got on your car btw?

 

103,260, but the system has been there since Mach. I got my alternator and battery checked at Autozone they said both are good But for some reason when i have the radio on :driving::irock: my ABS light goes on, the radio turn off, ABS light turns off in about 2-5sec, radio say hello and starts playing again
so you say it could be a bad connection, then its probably on the radio since it turns off not the amp, right.But why does the ABS light go on at the same time as the radio turns off, then the radio goes on when the ABS light goes back off. If its a bad connection why would it mess with my ABS

 

How tight are your battery terminals?

 

My amp doesn't turn off. The only thing that happens is my ABS light goes on, the radio turn off, ABS light turns off in about 2-5sec, radio say hello and starts playing again. The amp never turns off just the radio when the ABS light goes on.

That def. sounds like a wiring problem...probably a illuminator wire is crossed with the wrong wire, and when the radio is on it turns on the abs light as well...

 

i would depin the illumination wire first since for some reason it always give me weird problems on installs. also who did the wiring, are they certified, also how is it wired (is the harness cut and hardwired in or is there harnesses)? what is the remote wire on your amp hooked up to? has anything weird happened to your car other than the abs light?

 

it has the harness 4 the radio, antenna is connected 2 the ignition. my friend did it in March( pounding ever since :irock but yesterday i went ahead a listened 2 my system and it happend again but this time the lights went dim and it seem as if i lost some power. i took off my faceplate(radio) and a few mins. later it happend again. last night i went out again :driving: with no radio and nothing happend today on my way to work same thing, nothing.

would it take 4 months for the problem to show up?

actually i had some electrical work done on my car last week, my widows, wipers and sunroof didn't work(results of an crash). the shop said it was a short in the wire you think they could have crossed some wires

 

The altinator is going as well as the battery I replaced both with a 150 amp altinator got that to go away now the charging system lite goes on and off i belive that has somthing to do with the ho altinator but i havent figured that out yet to get rid of that light :-)


Fix one light and another one comes on :-)
