hey guys whats up, my friend has a 2001 honda civic lx and wants me to do her stereo. now ive done cars b4 but after a 20 min looking am not 100% sure of the easiest way to take her radio out. how do you take the stock radio out of that car? please help

 

ok im gonna be shooting beans right hear but its prolly the same as all other civics... but i dont really know too much, try taking some of the dash off thats what i did for mine

 

is the deck being taken out gonna be trashed? or saved cus if your just gettin rid of a stock one then just take a screw driver to it and it will usually pry out but if u dont wanna take the chance of a dent or crack then take out the panel screws which should be down on the side

 

i heard if you have the stock keyless entry you gotta keep the deck in the car or it wont work.

 

yeah it wont work and not to mention the light that goes on when you open doors will stop working as well

 

the keyless entry and the dome light will work if you replace the headunit, my brother has a 2000 Civic VP and has replaced the headunit and everything works just fine i think its the 1998 and and older models that wont work ..... u will be fine

yup mine is a 1998 model and the dome light dont work cuz i removed the factory HU. There was a thread here sumwhere to show you how to get the dome light to work again. i just forgot which section it was in :dunno:
