Default Alpine Deck won't turn on

OK. The person who owned the car b4 me installed a pioneer deck and didn't decide to get a harness. They just hooked it up wire by wire. I undid all that, got the info on what wire is what from this page..http://www.team-integra.net/sections...?ArticleID=217,
and hooked up the correct wires. (I've double checked this). Anyways I get it all connected and the damn thing won't turn on. Oh yeh and the clock is not working either.

I see on the page above it says that the radio ground goes to the ground. The alpine hu already provided a ground. I tried hooking up the provided alpine ground, I've tried hooking up the alpine ground to the acura ground. Do I hook them both up seperatly??

Would you guys like pictures??

There is a 7.5a fuse under the hood that goes to the clock and head unit. That probably blew out when you were messing with the wires. Replace it.

No. Under the hood. There is a fuse under the steering wheel that goes to the head unit. A lot of people already know that. What most people dont know is that there is another fuse that is under the hood that goes to the head unit.

Check the one that is under the hood.

You can connect them separately or to the same point.

Ok, I used a bolt on a metal spar and connected the two grounds to it. I also got the 7.5a fuse and replaced it. The hu will still not turn on...do I need a higher amp fuse or something like that?

Thats weird. Are you positive that the head unit works? Is there an onboard fuse on the head unit itself that broke?

The head unit is brand new. I don't know if it's broken internally but I doubt it. I think i'm going to redo every wire....

the alpine harness has a bigger guage for the battery wire than the one running from the car...is this it? there is an internal 10a fuse but it's working.
