Pls help w/amp choice
I've upgraded Integra w/ CD-mp3-WMA player(DEH-P4700MP), and now run 2 Pioneer 3-ways thru individual boxes. Am going to buy the Infinity Reference 6903i's, and build box for them, possible allowing for/including a single sub. Regarding amp choice, I've narrowed it down to the Sony XM-4060GTX(60wx4@4ohms, @ $118-199), and the Kenwood KAC-8402(60wx4@4ohms, @ $149-249.) I'm really only planning on running the Infinitys and Pioneers, or Infinitys and better 5 1/2's up front. By the specs, both are MOSFET, both 60x4 RMS, but the Sony is showing a 600w Peak, to the Kenwood's 240w, and the Frequency Response is 50kHz-5Hz for the cheaper Sony, but only 30-10 for the more expensive Kenwood. Any ideas or experience w/either of these at all for anyone? I would think that the equality of RMS power, the better Freq Resp, and the lower price would make the Sony the better deal, unless it just sucks as a product. Would anyone argue with me?

Sony sucks as a product. They plaster their products with their watt rating to get more sales. Let me tell ya, 600 Sony watts doesn't sound like 240 Kenwood watts.

Oh....and the Kenwood peak was 360w, not 240w as I misstated. So, you understand why I asked, but I guess it was kind of a studip question to ask if Kenwood made better amps than Sony. Thanks for reminding me which universe I live in

Thanks flatliner, I'll look into it, although the HU change is out, cuz as stated I've already installed my Pioneer which is more than fine for me, but then my needs and tastes are easily satisfied with above average quality, options, and cost-efficiency. I know that you get what you pay for, and some are better than others within a range of quality/cost ratios.

Will, ure too cool, and right. I can trust your trader rating w/o looking, but should I research this Italian amp company? Are all good amps created equal? Why did u buy, and now are selling? Can the 2-ch amp be "split" at all, even if it splits the RMS? Can u b insulted with offers? (MAN - their freakin' huge !
