Default JVC KD-DV5100 Car DVD Receiver $218

Im looking at some aftermarket units and alot of them are pulling 20 rms/50 peak. Any particular brands I should be looking at in terms of quality wattage for whats advertised vs what it's really pulling?

Thats what I currently have my eyes set at. Its a JVC that sells for $218 on the net + litle s/h fee vs BestBuy which sells it for $300 + tax.

It does 22W x 4 RMS, 50W x 4 Maximum power, it plays mp3's on both CD-/+R, RW and Dvd-/+R, RW.

What are your thoughts on this HU that does all this for $218 +s/h?

I havent really been a fan of JVC...actually, I've never tried them. I always look towards Pioneer or Alpine for my headunits.

The internal amps in the headunits are fairly weak. Someone did a bench test, and a lot of the wattage claims...even from "better" companies fall short.

Also, be aware of where you buy online...it is best to buy from an authorized dealer.

Anything alpine or pioneer have that in the same category of features that this JVC has and around the same price?
