Default center channel

crutchfield shows two brands make center channels, clarion (SRK5) and alpine (SBS-0715). they both look pretty nice. I'm a bit more partial to the clarion unit because I could fit in in my upper din slot.

are there any other alternatives? I tried searching, but couldn't find much. I was hoping maybe someone out there had something in their setup.....

Any reason why you want a center channel... I mean you dont have a center ear right?

I had a niffy Panasonic deck that came with a hold-out center channel on the HU. It was basically an extra tweeter right in the middle of the car. Everytime that was on, the imaging was just thrown off.

research, more or less.

my cd player has dolby control with it, and the 5.1 decoder isn't very expensive. and I have a dvd player, so why not.

I've seen those panasonic decks before, they're not too bad. But I don't think they had a very good decoder in the HU.

according to my 2005 Alpine dealer cat. ("borrowed" from Tweeter)

Alpine is releasing something similar to Europe's SBS-05DC

This one is din mountable and requres no extra drilling.

wow, I like that.

the clarion unit is half-din, so I figured I could put that in, and add a g2 integra cupholder (half-din also) to fill the gap.

but that peice is really nice. Are they internally amplified?
