Default just want a little bass- 96 civic

i just got some eclipse 6x9's and 6 1/2's for my 96 civic. i dont know if these are any good, but they sure dont seem to have as much bass as the stock crappy speakers did. they do sound alot cleaner though. anyway, so im looking to get a sub and amp.

can anyone give me some helpful ideas on what to do? i want something small. one sub. id like to be able to stick the sub on the side of the trunk, so its out of the way, but i dont know if anything would fit in there. i dont want something booming, just to give a little hint of bass. so do i get a 12, 10 or even and 8 if theres some out there? and im trying to do this as cheap as possible. i need to buy a headunit too, and just spent $250 on those eclipse speakers. help me out here guys. thanks.

and what about those bass tubes? are they any good?

find a shallow mounting depth 10 for the sub and go to town
Maybe something like a Kicker L7 10, just to maximize cone area while keeping with the small box theme. A 500-800w amp should suffice as well.

eclipse speaker are good, they have some nice new HU to. if i were you i would get a like 300w ppi amp and 12" rockford sub. if you do buy an amp don't believe the number it says on it(unless its a high end brand). for example some amps say 400w on them but you would be lucky if they ever put out that much power. don't get a sony explod amp even if you find one at a good price. if you want you could get a cheap system for under $300 if you look at brands like rockbox or visontik. but who ever heard of these brand. If you don't have alot of money look for a place where you can pay monthly/weekly and get a decent system.

what about an alpine type r or type e 10 inch? i was looking at them and it looks like for the type e you need a .6 cu ft box and the type r is .5 cu ft. that should be about the right spacing i need. is $130 a good price for the type r 10"? or should i look around more for a better price.

i retract my suggestion since you seem to be looking for a sane low cost setup. you can go with kicker and a jbl amplifier.
