Compustar is a great company. I have a Clifford RSX 3.5, they are under the same company as Directed, Viper, Python, Orion, A/D/S, PPI, Concept. The Viper and Python also have the same version of the RSX 3.5 under their own names, its the same components but the pager key chains are different colors than the carbon fiber clifford. I would either do Compustar, Clifford, Viper, and Python. This isn't saying their aren't any other good ones out there, I just don't have any experience with others.

DEI is a big name in this industry.

But as long as you choose a reputable brand with the features that you want, give it a great install and you should be good. Installation is KEY with an alarm system.

Compustar or Aladdin (which is the same as compustar but slightly cheaper)
Viper systems are good too. I just prefer the features that come with compustar. Some of the features, like the pager (set up on the glass and when someone hits/taps/knocks on the glass it pages you) SEEMS like it would be pointless but it's used alot

All of those r good. DEI is the big dog of the alarm industry. But truely any alarm is only as good as the install if your gonna do it take your time and never say " i'll just fix that later"! Do it rite the 1st time and be sure. If you are gonna take it to a pro then without anyone watching tip the installer 1st not after what is he gonna do for you as you are leaving, tip em 1st then he will be more than happy to go the extra mile for you while working on your car!

I would go Viper or Clifford. But they're all the same because the are made by DEI. Just don't get the 1st gen. responder units. they suck!
