Default Elemental Designs.

Is anyone here familiar with them? I've been reading up on them for a bit because I wanted to upgrade my system and wanted to stray away from the mainstream companies. I just wanted some peer feedback on them. :happysad:

I haven't used their equipment myself, but I've heard them in vehicle and they sound great. they have a strong loyalty in their customer base.

Are you getting them locally Will? I haven't seen any shops in the east bay that carry them.

Yes, I am running their 13Kv.2 sub and their nine.2 amp. Really good setup for the money. I have the in a 1 cubic foot box and it sounds really good. Definitely more for SQ than for SPL. The only problem this company has is with backorders. I had ordered my sub and amp in the beginning of February and didn't get it til late March. Some people had been waiting since last November.

Will, what kind of products were you thinking of getting from them?

Yea, I dont know of any shops around here. I was just going to get them through their website directly. Where in the Bay are you?

That is a long wait. I was thinking of a nine.2 and a 11kv.2 sub. Both say they are in stock on the website. I probably should give them a call before I order.

I have the older 12k with the flat cone and have never had a problem but dont push it that hard either. Might want to look at adire audio, resonate engineering maybe even image dynamics depending on what you consider mainstream.

I actually have an IDQ right now. Both Adire and RE and a little more expensive. But I have consider them also. I am still about a month away from buying. But I'll take a look at them again. I've heard good things about the Shilva (sp) and the XXX.

I'm in Alameda. The only thing about the Adire shiva and brahma are that they are big box applications, it if that matters.

Yea, that is true. IIRC, they are also pretty power hungry. The eD will be in a .5 cubic ft box and will be fine with 300 watts. I think I am going to go that route.

Do you happen to know of a good speaker box builder in the area? Private or shop?

will, only thing with the nine.2 is that it puts out 400 watts in bridged mode, the 13Kv.2 is 350RMS, the 11Kv.2 is 300RMS, as long as you don't turn up the gain too much, you'll be fine. I know you know what you're doing. I put my 13Kv into a 1 cubic foot box and the little thing pounds pretty well.

Oh yea, if it says its in stock on the website, you should have the amp and sub within a week, they are pretty good about shipping if it says its in stock.

Or if you want, get an 11Ov.2
(1) 11Ov.2 D2 subwoofers + NINe.2 Amplifier
$390.00 Regular / Save $50 / Package Price - $330 Shipped

Only problem is that the 11OV.2 needs a .8-1 cubic foot box...

I do my own work, so I can't really give an opinion on other shops. I can help you out it you want. At .5 cuft, you can have a nice floorbox application and still have your spare. That's what I did in my brother's RSX.
