Default 1 Alpine Type R 10 in my Car?

Do you guys think one 10" Alpine Type R would hit hard in my car (Accord Coupe) with a stock deck? What kinda amp should i get, preferrably Alpine? Thanks

Nick

I think if it were in a small ported box, it would hit hard. Sealed, I don't know... Something around 200-300 watts should be fine as well.

My single 12" IDMAX hits very hard and is very clean. It's powered with a DEI 1100d, so basically 1100 watts.

Yea small ported enclosure would should better than in a sealed. Well it all depends on the type of bass you want and also what kind of music you listen to. I personally don't think 1 10" would be sufficent for my needs but if it were my only choice, i'd use a plexi enclosure. Bass hits really tight. Not really good for rap. I'd either spend the extra cash on another sub or maybe look into another brand.

I listen to rap and some punk, but i heard about some people with 2 Type R's having problems with the bass loosening a lot of parts in their cars, and having bass hit a 155 dbs. I dont need that much bass, so I thought this would be good, do you think 1 12 would be better, or should I get Type S's?

i've had one 10" type R powered by Alpine T707 amp in a sealed box. yes it pounds, but sometimes i dont feel it's loud enough. so now i have 2 12" type R powered by mono M500 amp.
Note: change the stock hu before adding a sub

I have one ppi 10 in a hatch teg thats powered by a ppi 2240 240 watts but actually its only 120 watts cause the load is 8 ohms instead of 4. Its not overpowering but clean and plently loud for me. A ported box is very difficult to build correctly and tends to be more boomy. But if you really want it to hit hard and don't care about quality of sound go with a bandpass box.
