Default Opinions on Alpine Type-R subs..

as far as pros and cons..

is it a SPL or SQ sub...


12" type-r's vs JLW6v1?

this is just me, but I would think about the Type X 12's compared to the JL, just a thought

From what I've heard personally from these two subs. The Type-R's put out more bass but the JL's sound sharper.

i really dont think you can go wrong either way. I have (2) 12" type Rs in the rear of my hatch and they hit hard and sound clear enough for what i use them for. With regards to the type X's I am kinda curious to hear what they sound like. I looked at the specs online and the frequency response is 23-200 Hz as opposed to the type R's which has a response of 24Hz-2kHz. Alpine was looking for these subs to do one thing.... hit low

ive had the type r and they sound better then my old rockford foscates....,but i dont know about JLs. havent compared.

They are really nice speakers very comparable to JL W3.

why spend that much cash on something that just makes a vibration.... just get some decent priced one in the size you want

There is a little more to it than that... I guess you have to appreciate the quality of "the vibration" a little more than the average person.

Iam sold on all alpine products they prod uce quality throughout there entire line of products. You can't go wrong with them. Compared to JL alpine gives you more bang for your buck, The reason I say this is because the you can get two type-r subs for the price of one JL sub and the alpine subs sound just as good as the over priced JLs.
