Default A good 4 OHM amp?

I just got 3 jl w6's v1, and they are wired @ 4ohms, and im looking for a 4 ohm amp that delievers like 600 watts rms maybe, but can't find 1 anywhere.. I might re-wire the subs to 1 ohm and buy a JBL 600.1 or whatever its called because that runs @ 600 watts rms.. but I would rather just buy a 4ohm amp, becuase i don't want to mess up when i re-wire it becuase I never did it before, messing with resistances and such.

Thanks in advance.

How much are you looking to spend?

The Hifonics BX1500D will give you 500W at 4ohm. Not the full 600, but this amp has plenty of headroom if you ever upgrade in the future. It'll put out 1000W at 2ohms and 1500 at 1ohm. They're also relatively cheap at about $250.

Check out this page if you decide to rewire your subs...

Well, i just bought an audiobahn for 170 brand new (retails for 300 or so).. a8002t i believe is the model.. it puts out 800 rms @ 4 OHMS when bridged. I am not sure on you guys opinions on them,,, but its the intake series, and i already have a intake series for my highs, so i thought it would match nicely.

Any thoughs on the amp i purhcased?

I really wan't a JBL one, but they were a bit pricey for what i was trying to spend.

personally i think audiobahn is crap, i would have went with either phoenix gold, ppi, soundstream, and hifonics isn't bad either. PPI would have been my first choice, everyone i've known that has had one of there amps is completely satisfied, they under-rate there amps. Just some more info for you (you may or may not know this already), but when it comes to rating watts by manufactures they don't have any type of basis to use, any company can claim anything they want, thats why alot of those generic companies claims there stuff is like 1000watts, there are no standards that they have to meet.

you cannot use two amps in his application, three subs makes the full 4 ohm load correctly.

HONESTLY I would have looked for something like an MTX2300x
that is rated @ like 600x1@4 but will do ~900-1000w @ 4 ohms given 14'ish volts. I had one on a pair of old JL 12W4-d4's and it was honestly my absolute favorite set up of all time...

Your car battery puts out around 14.4V while not idleing (sp?). That is where he is getting the 14V from.

I disagree. For some reason mainstream buyers tend to favor audiobahn, which I cannot fathom. There is better for th price, but, I think for your application you will be happy with it.
