All I can tell you is to get a multi-meter check the wires for Ohm's but it sounds like you migth have a short some where were your power just keeps on flowing.

You might want to check it with voltage although the car is off there should be power coming from one of them wires.

Ok, to start with constant power should not be connected to the blue and white wire... that is a remote turn on wire that sends a signal to an amp or power antenna to turn on. Red is the accessory wire, which is triggered when the key is turned on. The yellow wire is the constant power wire, which gets power all the time.

Get a wirring diagram for your deck... make sure everything is right... it definatly sounds like you have it wrong.

illumination is an orange wire if the deck has the need for one.

thanks for all your help everything is good now but i think i might have shorted out my display,I can still use the cd player but no display. This is a very aftermarket radio with no name but it does have like two glass fuses and every once in a while the display will cut back on.will replacing the fuses give me display or could the problem be internal?

it it has a detachable faceplate, remove the face and carefully clean the contacts on the face and the deck with rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip. Other than that, I have no idea.
