Default 2000 Civic CD Player Issues

My cd player is spitting out CDs and giving me an error code of E-00. I pulled the unit out and looked it over and no obvious problems were found. I read the manual and it stated that this is a focus issue. Is there anything I can do, or should I just buy a replacement on eBay?

i'll sell my stock one to ya for 100

otherwise go the mp3 deck route, or maybe try a cd lens cleaner.

could it still be under warranty - sounds like it needs a lens alignment...

Thanks for the information. I will check to see if it still under warranty. If not, how do I proceed with a lens alignment? If I do go the mp3 deck, which one is the best for this make and model. There are currently 3 stock players on ebay for under $75.

it's not worth putting the effort to align a lens on a factory head, I'd just replace it. I like Alpine's personally, but Eclipse are very nice too.

yeah it'll cost just about that to align a lens, so mise well just get a new deck anyways. Shop around, i like pioneers decks, most are around a 100. As for ebay, they do have a few on there, but the ones i'm currently seeing are either 99'-below models, or above, and many are tape decks with no cd players. I've seen the 00 cd one go for 100, so thats what i just blurted out, don't forget to get it thru a dealer it'll cost ya close to 200 for some god unknow reason. Plus i have the code and mounting screws, thoses on ebay coulda been stolen, and might not have a code, who knows... anyways I'd go for a 3rd party deck if you don't mind it clashing a little .

Thanks for all the input. I will either get a 3rd party or maybe I will get that one from TyrantII ;-)
