Default Speaker Recomendations?

I have some excellent Altec Lansing speakers in my 95 Civic. I need some better speakers in my 90 Civic. Sadly, Altec Lansing no longer makes automotive speakers. Could someone please recomend to very good sounding speakers and aren't too expensive?

Are you looking for components or coax? And what is your price range?

I don't think I will go with components in my car. I just finished that in my house. I just want some good speakers for around $60. I have heard that Blaupunkt is a good brand. They have some $40 speakers on Crutchfield. Would those be any good?

damn, only $60 to spend huh?

I've never listened to blaupunkt speakers so I don't know if those would be any good. But if you have some time and can wait it out a little bit, im sure you'd be able to find some Polk Audio 6.5's for that price. I got my Polk 6x9's for $50 at Fry's Electronics.

Yep only $60 to spend. I don't need anything fancy. I just want good sound. What about Panasonic speakers?

I have Pioneers in my truck and they do sound good but they aren't the same as the Altec Lansing speakers. What about Blaupunkt?

at this price point, I would go to your local, large audio retailer at during a non-peak time of the day (right when they open is good) so that it's not busy. Bring your favorite CD.

Set all of the EQ and boost functions on the head to flat...

Then just take a listen...use an amplifier similar to what you have and see what YOU think....

At this price point it's like throwing darts...
