Default 6x9 vs 6.5"

Is there major differences between the two? Why would you pick one over the other (besides cutting the deck to fit the 6x9)?

6 x 9's offer more bass and take more power. 6.5" will typically sound better and reproduce sound more accurately because circular speakers reproduce sound best. I like the two 6.5" in the front, two 6 x 9 setup in the back in my 01 accord, personally. The 6.5" have good vocals and the 6 x 9's provide the bass and fill from the back.
