i searched but came up empty. ne ways, i notice that when i have my stereo on that my idle jumps around. when my stereo is off it idles decently. i thought that maybe the bass was just causing the stock tach to move but i popped the hood with the stereo on and the engine didnt sound smooth. i turned off the radio and it was fine. i only have a 250 watt amp hooked up to one twelve, so its not a massive amp drawing to much current. any ideas? thanks.

 

any sudden current draw will make the motor bog down a little, as the extra current puts a load on the alternator putting a draw on the motor.

 

any tips on how to alleviate the problem or should i just chuck my amp out the window doing 110 on the highway. because i cant stand my motor bogging like that? thanks.

 

you can try a capacitor... it'll help a little

if you have the cash, you could always get a high output alternator. example

 

its the sign that ur alternator is going bad...
u can try to do the magic 3 and it might help...but eventually ull need another alt

 

if its not one thing its another with this car. what do you mean by magic 3?

 

try this...
4 or 2gauge from battery + to amps
4 or 2gauge from amp - to good grounds
4 or 2gauge from battery - to chasis
2gauge from alt to battery +
then 4 or 2gauge from engine block to battery - or good chasis

i may have missed out on something..
but an upgrade in ur current electrical wiring helps...
esp grounding and ur alt

 

i may have to try that. i already have a grounding kit on my car, i probably need to upgrade the positive side now. thanks for the advice.
