Default Dim Head Unit Display

Wonderin' if anyone has ever experienced a dim head unit on a Pioneer series radio. Its about 4 years ago, but I'm not so sure of the unit #. It seems like during the day I can't even see the face or read the display. I have tinted windows, but the glare on the face is unbearable. Anyone have any suggestions to possibly reduce the glare. I know I said dim display, but I think its a combo of this and sunlight glare. Thanks

Funny, I have a 4 year old Pioneer P7000???? Dim display. I thought there might be an illumination wire, but apparently not.

If it is one of the older Pioneers with the external silver box, the booster for the display is shot (thats the silver box). It has worn down and cant amplify the radio display enough to keep it bright. Replace it or get it fix. I would opt to replace it and get a new warranty.

My display has been shot since I bought it.
