Going Turbo on Accord

Going Turbo on Accord
Ok I really looking to go turbo in the next few months. I am not looking to go too high in whp right now for 2 reasons.(Stock Internals and I am just wanting to test it out and make sure everything will work out.) I am looking at the DRAG Gen3 kit for an accord. Seeing as how it is an automatic I will do as someone else has done and buy an extra torque conveter from a junkyard and send it to Level 10 for the torque converter upgrade and cooler. Should I look into buying anything extra to safely be able to have the kit put on my car without worrying if anything is going to mess up? If it makes a difference, the engine has been fully rebuilt a few weeks ago.

Instead of upgrading you converter for several hundred dollars, have you considered converting to a 5-speed instead? I did mine for less than $600, makes it a much better performing and driveable car, especially if you are going to have a turbo!

if auto-->5spd cost only $600, you MUST go with that, at least i strongly suggest that.
nothing else, just install the kit WELL, not half-ass work. if you want, get s-afc to align your a/f curve better a little. but that's it.
some ppl gonna tell you to upgrade the fuel management that comes with drag kit (fmu and check valves), but that's gonna cost much, just try it out and then upgrade.
Oh, also, get 255 lph walbro and install that while you're at the turbo install..

Thanks for the input. Yeah I was thinking the same thing on the 5spd, but since I just paid to have the transmission rebuilt with 3yr warranty I might as well use it for awhile. After that, basically I am going to move up to an h22 swap with 5spd.

It would have been nice if you would have prepped ur car for turbo when rebuilding the engine so u could pump mad boost into it. Wouldn't ur warranty be void with the new torque converter and turbo? 5spd is sooo much more fun to drive.

Why don't you call shops to find out? It will be cheaper do it this yourself, since you will have to pay the shop labor rates. Different cities have different rates. Call shops and ask how much it would cost for a 5spd conversion if you want to have them do it.
